Rhodotron, a major step forward for the
medical sterilization
A state-of-the-art particle gas pedal
The electron gas pedal Rhodotron converts electron beams into X-rays to effectively sterilize medical equipment (or food), destroying bacterial DNA.
This concentrate of technologies is manufactured by IBA, the leader in particle acceleration technology and electron beam and X-ray irradiation solutions.
Corimatec has been copper-plating these Rhodotrons for several years.

Tailor-made solutions for high-precision equipment
IBA's Rhodotron illustrates Corimatec's expertise in the technical copper plating of components for leading-edge applications.
Corimatec contributed to this project by depositing a copper layer of exceptional precision, with a thickness of 80 μm, guaranteeing the rhodotron's copper-plated steel elements optimum thermal and electrical conductivity, essential in the particle acceleration process.
Thanks to our know-how, we were able to meet the stringent performance and sustainability requirements of this ambitious project, which called for tailor-made development and industrialization.
